The Fox Inn is at the social heart of the village of Ousby, reached off the A686 Penrith-Alston road after the turn-off between Langwathby and Melmerby. Dating from 1790, this splendid free house is owned and run by Shaw & Linda, who provide a special brand of hospitality that makes it a popular spot both with the locals and with visitors from further afield. Old Faithful, from the local Tirril Brewery, is among the favourite drinks served in the cheerful bar, which is open from 6 o'clock Monday to Friday evenings, all day Saturday and Sunday. We serve food every night (from Easter), all day Saturday, Sunday lunches from 12pm - 2pm
