The Rainbow Inn opened its doors as a pub (actually a beer house) at some stage in the mid 1700's, before that it was almost certainly a coaching house and shop. The Rainbow Inn remains both an important part of the local community and also a beacon of excellence that attracts people from much further afield. The Rainbow Inn is a traditional country pub with a fine restaurant. To the rear of the most attractive 18th century building is a secluded courtyard with a purpose built barbeque area. There is also a large enclosed back garden with charming views over the South Downs.
